ZWO ASI585MM Pro (Cooled Mono Astronomy Camera)

The ASI585MM Pro is ZWO’s latest deep-sky imaging camera, built around the 4K Sony CMOS sensor with a 1/1.2″ format and 2.9μm pixels. It delivers an impressive resolution of 3840×2160 (8.29MP) and excellent sensitivity, particularly in the near-infrared range. In high-speed mode, it captures up to 47 frames per second at full resolution with low read noise, making it ideal for both fast imaging and long-exposure deep-sky work. With its high signal-to-noise ratio and strong performance, this camera is a powerful yet cost-effective option for beginners entering deep-sky astrophotography.

Power Requirement:

Even with unbinned 2.9μm pixels, it offers an impressive 40ke- full well capacity — nearly three times higher than the previous IMX485 sensor. That means better dynamic range, reduced overexposure in bright areas, and a stronger signal-to-noise ratio.

Two-Stage TEC Cooling

The ASI585 Series features powerful two-stage TEC cooling that drops the sensor temperature up to 35°C below ambient. This significantly reduces dark current and sensor noise, even during long exposures.
*Note: Delta T of 35°C is tested at 30°C ambient temperature. Cooling efficiency may vary with longer sessions or lower outside temperatures.

Excellent Performance, Low Noise

Built-in HCG mode reduces read noise at high gain while maintaining high dynamic range. At gain 252, HCG activates automatically, delivering read noise as low as 0.7e with nearly 11-bit dynamic range.
