The ASI2600MM Duo combines imaging and guiding sensors in one compact body
Main sensor
The ASI2600MM DUO main sensor is a back-illuminated CMOS IMX571 based on Sony STARVIS technology. The IMX571 provides improved sensitivity and noise reduction. Featuring a native 16-bit ADC, 14 stops dynamic range, an APS-C format 26 Mega pixel sensor, 23.5mm x 15.7mm size with a diagonal of 28.3mm and a 3.76um square pixel array. The IMX571 accommodates an impressive full well depth of 50ke and with the new technology extended full well depth mode it can be increased to 73ke. Its readout noise is as low as 1.0e and it has no amp glow.
Guide sensor
The guide sensor is the Type 1/1.8 SC2210 as used in the popular ASI220MM Mini camera which features excellent NIR sensitivity and a QE peak value of 92% at 500nm. The sensor size is 7.68mm x 4.32mm and has 4um x 4um pixels with an array resolution of 1920×1080 and a full well depth of 8780e. The readout noise is as low as 0.6e. This new generation guide sensor achieves great results in guiding, and has been proven by hundreds of astrophotographers.
Note the stars on the corner of the guide images can be affected by reducers and back focus distance. They might not be very round. This is not due to the sensor tilt and will not affect normal use.
Two-in-one design
Thanks to the compact design, the ASI2600MM Duo only needs one USB cable for control. This reduces potential cabling issues and improves setup speeds. You don’t need a separate OAG and guide camera.
Tilt Adjustment from Rear (Optional)
The 3 points from the rear make tilt adjustment much easier without the trouble of removing the tilt plate from the camera.
Anti-Dew Heater
There is a polyimide heater completely fitting the protective window in the ASI2600MM Duo camera. It can help avoid any potential annoying dew or icing issues depending on the environment in which you capture images.
The power of the heater is around 5W. If you want to save battery, you can always turn it off in your photography software.
