The Home Sensor is necessary for the proper operation of the ScopeDome USB and Arduino card based control systems. The Home Sensor allows the ScopeDome driver to determine if the dome is in the Home position, which, in conjunction with the rotation encoder counter, allows precise determination of the shutter azimuth position.
