Antlia designed the 2 inch LRGB Dark series filters with a full visible spectrum curve, targeting specific wavelength ranges: Luminance (400-710nm), Red (595-705nm), Green (495-605nm), and Blue (410-505nm). This design maximises signal-to-noise ratio and contrast for deep sky, full-spectrum astrophotography.

Each filter uses quartz glass, chosen for its outstanding thermal and mechanical stability, thanks to its ultra-low thermal expansion. This durability allows the filters to perform reliably in harsh environmental conditions. In astronomical imaging, they also help minimise star deformation caused by temperature fluctuations.

Antlia achieves an exceptionally high cut-off rate in these filters by using advanced manufacturing equipment and multiple coating layers. This precise control blocks unwanted spectral bands, ensuring superior optical performance and consistent product quality.

For best results, pair the LRGB Dark series with Antlia’s SHO 2.5nm Ultra Narrowband filters. Both use the same quartz substrate and refractive index, which guarantees excellent parfocal performance across your imaging setup.

Application and Performance:

  • Enhances astronomical imaging sensitivity with a full visible spectrum design

  • Delivers high transmittance: B filter ≥95%, L/R/G filters ≥97%, ensuring minimal signal loss and maximising contrast

  • Uses quartz glass for outstanding durability, thermal stability, superior fracture and scratch resistance, and improved coating resilience during cleaning

  • Blocks interference from other wavelengths with an out-of-band blocking rate of OD4.5 (0.005%), reducing halos around bright stars

  • Matches standard filter thickness and undergoes double-sided fine polishing to maintain parfocality across your imaging system

  • Features edge-to-edge coatings on all filters, with unmounted narrowband filters edge-blackened to eliminate internal reflections from stray light

  • Resists scratches for long-lasting performance
