Solar Telescopes

Solar telescopes are typically refractor types. They can filter all light frequencies, and these are called “white light” solar telescopes. They can also filter out all light apart from specific frequencies, typically Hydrogen alpha (656.3nm) or Calcium-K (393.4nm). This gives a very different solar image.
