Description

The QUATTRO 150PDX is built for imaging first. At f/4 it gathers light fast, so faint nebulosity and galaxy structure build up in a fraction of the exposure time a slower telescope needs – which also means less demand on guiding and less total time under the stars for the same result.

The PDX generation brings a set of mechanical upgrades to the Quattro line. The focuser is a compact 1:11 dual-speed rack and pinion with the fine control needed at this focal ratio, where the depth of focus is very shallow. The secondary mirror sits in an integral die-cast bracket for stable collimation, and the tube itself is thickened aluminium alloy, resisting the flexure that shows up as elongated stars.

A multifunctional handle makes a 5.4kg tube easy to carry and mount single-handed. An optional coma corrector is available and recommended for imaging, correcting the coma inherent to fast Newtonian optics for round stars across the full frame.
