The ToupTek GPM174M is a passively cooled guide camera featuring the Sony IMX249 CMOS mono sensor. This sensor is large in size and has especially large pixels which provides very high sensitivity. It is especially suited for guiding long focal length astrophotography rigs such as Schmidt-Cassegrains.
In addition to autoguiding, the wider field of view (FOV) provided by the GPM174M is suited to solar and lunar imaging.
The camera communicates via a USB type-C cable, which also provides the camera with its power.
The GPM174M sensor is 11.3 x 7mm and 2.3megapixels, and offers a maximum frame rate of 16 FPS, which is more than enough for autoguiding. The pixels are 5.86 μm in size, which ensures you will find a guide star, even at f/10.Â
The extended version of this camera has a longer waist than the normal version and is designed to find focus inside popular brands’ off-axis guiders.
The camera has a native driver, and an ASCOM driver is also included. This means that all popular image acquisition software may be used with the camera. In addition to this, the camera comes with the advanced video and image processing application ToupSky.
Because the GPM174M is intended as an autoguiding camera, an ST-4 port and cable are provided, which allows ST-4 guiding.

The ToupTek GPM174M is an especially sensitive camera, and its QE peaks at about 89% at about 520nm.
