The ToupTek G3M715C is a passively cooled 1.25″ form colour planetary camera incorporating the 8.3 megapixel 4K Sony IMX715 CMOS sensor. The camera communicates via USB3 and has 12 bit ADC to reach a rate of 47 frames per second. The camera’s main innovation is its extremely small 1.45µm pixels. This means it is suited to prime focus planetary or Lunar astrophotography using telescopes in the faster f/7 to f/10 range.
The IMX715 sensor in the G3M715C is 5.57 x 3.13mm in size, which is in the 1/2.8″ category. Being a 4K sensor, it has a maximum resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels.
The camera communicates with the computer using a USB3.0 cable (included with the camera). The camera has a native driver, and an ASCOM driver is also included. This means that all popular image acquisition software may be used with the camera. In addition to this, the camera comes with the advanced video and image processing application ToupSky.
The G3M715C can also work as an autoguiding camera, and an ST-4 port and cable are provided, which allows ST-4 guiding.
