The ToupTek G3M224C is a passively cooled 1.25″ form colour planetary camera incorporating the back-illuminated 4 megapixel Sony IMX224 CMOS sensor. The camera communicates via USB3 for frame rates up to 95 FPS and is therefore especially suited to video-based planetary astrophotography.
The IMX224 sensor in the G3M224C is a 1/3″ (4.9 x 3.7mm) sensor with 3.75µm pixels. With an example focal length of 1000mm, the field of view will be 16.5 by 12.4 arcminutes, at a resolution of 0.77 arcseconds per pixel.
The camera communicates with the computer using a USB3.0 cable (included with the camera), and can achieve up to 150 frames per second. The camera has a native driver, and an ASCOM driver is also included. This means that all popular image acquisition software may be used with the camera. In addition to this, the camera comes with the advanced video and image processing application ToupSky.
Because the G3M224C can also be used as an autoguiding camera, an ST-4 port and cable are provided, which allows ST-4 guiding.
