The Lunt LS50FHa front mount 50 mm double stack solar filter is an additional component you can attach to the front of a Lunt 60mm Universal Telescope. With this attachment, the bandwidth of the telescope will decrease from around 0.65Å to around 0.45Å. This will render images sharper, giving you more detail in the image.

Note that attaching the LS50FHa solar filter to the LS60MT telescope reduces the aperture to 50mm. If you require the full 60mm aperture, you should use the Lunt LS60FHa solar filter instead.

The LS50FHa filter can also be used on Lunt ED telescopes (and some others) to create a solar telescope. Further, a pair of LS50FHa filters may be used on a Lunt ED telescope (and some others) as a double-stack filter. However, note that you MUST use a matching Lunt Blocking Filter with a Lunt Solar front mounted filter (this is a safety requirement). Choose the blocking filter that best suits your requirements for the system. It’s important to realize that a larger blocking filter is recommended for imaging due to the need for in-focus of the camera.
