The LUNT Solar Systems 60 mm Universal Telescope is the smallest and most portable of the new line telescopes. You can enjoy this new versatile 60 mm telescope with its new ED Doublet Lens in all our available wavelengths, for a true grab-and-go scope that will deliver excellent views in all its configurations.
The Lunt 60 mm Universal Telescope provides stellar solar viewing in its default configuration with provided Hydrogen Alpha Module, its 60 mm aperture allowing the viewer to gaze at the sun with an unobstructed clarity that is unparalleled in the industry.
Explore the majesty of the Sun’s prominences, filaments and other surface phenomena during the day. When the Sun finally sets, switch to wandering through our Galaxy at night with minimal effort. The 60 Universal has been designed with ease in mind, ensuring your transition from daytime to night time viewing in mere moments.
Configuring your telescope
Blocking filter
The Lunt 60 mm Universal Telescope is supplied with an initial choice of blocking filter (a component between the focuser and the eyepiece that is used in solar viewing). The blocking filter is removed for night-time viewing. Blocking filters may come as a diagonal shape (leaving the eyepiece at right angles to the scope) or straight-through shape. Diagonal blocking filters are ideal for viewing but can also be used for imaging with a planetary camera. If you are only interest in imaging you may prefer a straight-through tube.
If you are using the Lunt 60 mm Universal Telescope for visual work only, the smaller 6mm (B600) blocking filter will be sufficient. If you are using the telescope for solar photography, the larger 12mm (B1200) is recommended so you avoid vignetting.
Focuser
Currently, Lunt supplies the rack and pinion focuser only. For other options, please contact Sidereal Trading.
