The CFF Telescopes 180mm f/7 Oil-spaced Triplet Refractor is an impressive instrument. Although having a short focal ratio for its aperture, this telescope is highly recommended to astronomers who enjoy a pure visual experience of Moon, planets, double stars and deep-sky objects as well as imagers looking to take advantage of its big aperture and increased resolution. Its cell contains hand-finished European lenses, which provide top quality planetary as well as unrivalled deep-sky views.

Suitable for imaging, the 180mm F/7 paired with the CFF field corrector will deliver a corrected image circle of ~55 mm diameter, allowing use of cameras equipped with full frame or 52mm diagonal chip for capturing wide field deep sky images.

Like all CFF objective lenses, the oil-spaced lens design helps in quickly reaching ambient temperatures, which is a big advantage when using these OTAs in places where significant temperature change can occur during observing/imaging sessions.

Note: this telescope is manufactured on request.

Main features:

  • 3.5″ rack and pinion type focuser from Starlight Instruments
  • dew shield with rotate & lock feature
  • bino-viewer friendly design
  • portable, large size refractor
  • Oil-spaced design for best possible light transmission & highest contrast.

* Overall length and weight depend on focal ratio, back-focus value and focuser
